“Every new non-stop route to Gothenburg is good for growth in the region,” says Leif Nilsson, CEO of Göteborg & Co, which markets Gothenburg as a destination.
easyJet will start flying to Berlin Schönefeld from Göteborg Landvetter Airport on November 2, and non-stop service to Manchester will begin December 10.
“Berlin is probably the hottest city in Europe right now, with a vibrant cultural life, good and inexpensive accommodations, and great restaurants. It is only about an hour’s flight from Gothenburg so it is perfect for a weekend destination. While it is mostly business travellers who fly to Manchester, that city also has many attractions, good shopping, and a large selection of pubs for every football fan,” says Oliver Aust, Head of Corporate Communications at easyJet.
