Welcome to Sundsvall and Härnösand Airport which is located in Timrå 20 kilometers from Sundsvall and 30 kilometers from Härnösand, an area blessed with both natural beauty and good opportunities for the establishment of new enterprises. Timrå’s Business environment
We have a common goal of growth, which means that the population in Timrå will increase to 18 500 people by 2015. The requirement for this is a continuously growing economy with more profitable and expanding companies and an active business sector with the establishment of new enterprises. The Industry & Commerce Office in the municipality coordinates the efforts to create a business environment that allows for maximal growth. A good business environment encourages business initiatives, the realization of ideas and new employment opportunities. Timrå’s goal is to create the best business environment in the north of Sweden by 2015.

The Industry & Commerce Office has the responsibility for coordinating issues concerning strengthening the local infrastructure of importance for the development of a good business environment. The municipality also cooperates with local businesses in the project Entrepreneur Timrå to promote the common goal of local growth. The project is run from the office at Terminalvägen 10 in Timrå.


Tourism in Timrå
Timrå is home to the world’s largest Y – a sculpture and landmark created by the internationally renowned artist Bengt Lindström. In Timrå you can experience the cultural heritage of forest industry and industrialism with Merlo Manor as a historical monument in an active cultural environment. There is an 18-hole seaside golf course integrated with the surroundings of Sweden´s largest river delta. In the river delta you can also enjoy beaches, fishing and the lovely nature. The nature’s bounty is a great feature in Timrå where the salmon and the gleaming salmon trout in the waters of the river Indalsälven attract avid anglers from near and far.
